Sydney Opera House is located in Sydney, Australia. Its appearance is three large pieces of shell. They are white and toward the sky. The construction began in 1959 and was finally completed in 1973. In 1956, Jorn Utzon, a young Danmark architect saw the advertisement of design plans for SOH which posted by Australia government. He then set out to design and sent his work. It never occured to him that he won the first prize. Therefore, he became the chief designer. From his story, I learn that if you are talented, don't miss any opportunities, just have a try, and you might be successful.
SOH is one of my favorite landmarks in Australia. The music hall inside is the largest hall. It's usually used in symphonies, opera, dance and many other performance. For example, on its opening ceremony, Australian conductor Downes conducted Prokofiev's War And Peace.
Tourists from all over the world come to visit and take pictures every day. No matter in morning, dusk or night, SOH owns different beauty. Some tourists say,"enjoy the night scene here is really great experience." I wish I could fly to Sydney to have a great trip as well.
SOH attracts thousands of visitors, it increases the revenues of local government and promotes the development of tourism. If you want to visit the Opera for an hour, you need to pay 26 dollar A.
If I get rich one day, I would come to Australia with my friends. I do believe that SOH has been recorded in history as a classic one of the world.
