Gettysburg Address

Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.

We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of the field as a final resting-place for those who here gave their lives that the nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But in a larger sense we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground.

The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.

It is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us, ----that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion, ----that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, ----that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, ----and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

　　education is so important in modern society that it can be viewed as a lifelong process .it's the requirement of fast-developing sociey to accept deucation despite of your age .our world is changing dramatically with the development of new science and technology .a person who completed his education at school in 70s or 80s may have encountered new problems when he is working now .besides,as food is to the body,so is learning to the mind .constant education supplies us with inexhaustible fuel for driving us to sharpen our power of reasoning ,analysis,and judgment .through education ,personal qualities and character can be improved.a success may learn to foresee more challenges,a failure the hope and opportunities.on the contrary,lack of learning will lead to the weakening of our will to pursue our ideals,which will most likely bring about a lazy mind and a rather passive state of living.therefore,education,in many aspects,is a lifelong process. 在现代社会教育是非常重要的，它可以被看作是一个终身的过程。它是飞速发展的社会要求无论年龄大小都要接受教育的要求。 随着科技发展我们的世界是急剧变化。一个在七八时年龄完成教育的人现在工作时可以遇到新的难题。此外，像粮食是物质食粮一样，学习是精神食粮。持之以恒的教育使我们有用之不竭燃料使我们提高推理，分析和判断的能力。通过教育可以改善个人素质和品行。成功可能学会预见更多挑战，失败，希望和机会。 相反， 缺乏学习将导致削弱我们追求我们的理想意志，这将最有可能带来一个懒惰思想和相当消极生活状态 . 因此，教育在许多方面是一个终身的过程。
