A Long Way
Last semester, I worked in a restaurant at my spare time. At the beginning, it was extremely hard for me to learn the
2
roles and remember the recipes. I had to stand there and smile. At the end of the day, I was so tired that I almost could do nothing.
After a few days of working, the head waiter told me that I could take charge as a chief. I knew if I worked hard, I would take charge of a room. It meant I can get more tip. I was glad to do that.
As new, it was not an easy thing to serve all customers well. Sometimes, I dished up wrongly. Or I forgot the customers requirements. What is worse, I overturned the plates twice. However, I could not be defeated because of these difficulties.
One day, I was about to be off duty when three foreigners came here. Because other colleagues could not speak English well, I had to stay to serve them. It was my first time to talk with a foreigner. However, suddenly, my mind was blank even though I had memorized 3000 words. How can I talk to them? I began to speak slowly, but think fast.
Excuse me, what can I do for you? I said it word by word. At the same time, I showed them the menu.
NO, we order ??? with some rice. They said so quickly that I seldom couldnt know what they wanted.
Pardon? I asked with embarrassment.
3
Oh, we want tomatoes and eggs. Look at this, xi hong shi chao ji dan, He showed me a note with some Chinese characters.
I tried my best to calm down. His pronunciation was different, which is not similar to my past study. So the munication seemed to be a little difficult. It made my colleagues laugh.
I got it. What else? I tried my best to keep calm as I could. I had no reason to laugh at them because of my bad English.
Water, please. Then, a pot of tea was on the table.
The more terrible thing was that the rice was sold out. How can I explain this to them? We were closing the store for the night. It was normal. However, we had been alternative.
Hum, there is no rice left. How about noodles? Like this and this. I felt embarrassed extremely. I could not translate the name to them and just showed the picture in the menu to them.
Maybe they were hungry, or they had no choice. They agreed me.
They said something and laughed. I could hardly
4
understand it. But it was not my business. The thing that I need to do was serve them more considerate.
They were eating and I was to go back to hostel.
Before long, they finished their supper and said: How much?
So, I had to stay more minutes. I gave them the bill.
It is too expensive. They yelled. I knew it was too expensive here. But I had no idea. I could do nothing for them, just smiled to them.
Finally, I gave them the bills and I got rid of the serve.
At the way to school, I saw them and we t the same way. They were students too.
They talked to me; I stumbled to respond to questions. How long the way was. I plained that why I couldnt remember any words. However, I began to talk to them and adapted to this atmosphere gradually. I restarted to pick up my confidence again. They praised me for my
self-confidence. Oh, I just said it word by word. Even I did not know how I could talk with them for such a long time. I swore I must learn English well, especially spoken English. Never make it happen again.

Last weekend, I helped my grandparents prepare their trip to Beidaihe. __________________
__________________________________________________.
(Last weekend, I helped my grandparents prepare their
trip to
该试题应该采用时间为线索(last weekend?on Saturday morning?in the
afternoon?after dinner?the next morning ),按时间的顺序来展开;同时注意图示中所表达的地点 (home? the train
station? home?station?
记叙文的要素一般包括When(时间),Where(地点),Who(人物),What(事情),Why(原因),How (怎样)。

Last weekend, I helped my grandparents their trip to Beidaihe. On Saturday morning, together with my grandparents, I searched the Internet for the train schedule, the weather in Beidaihe, and some hotel information. In the afternoon, I t to the train station and managed to buy two tickets for my grandparents although there was a long queue. After dinner, I packed into the suitcase the things my grandparents need, such as clothes, glasses, an umbrella, and a map. The next morning, I t to the station to see them off. Waving goodbye to them on the platform, I felt happy for them and wished them a safe journey.

On March 11, 2011, I experienced the largest earthquake in Japan’s recorded history. It was fourteen minutes to three. I was on a Tokyo-bound train heading to my weekend

English teaching job when my train suddenly stopped and began shaking violently. First, I heard a noise, but I don’t
know what was happening. And then I watched all the glasses and bottles on the table fall off onto the floor. The earth shook for a while and some luggage fell off the shelf. I got up from my bed and moved to a window, only to find buildings along the railway swaying and some electricity lines toppling down to the ground. It was a huge earthquake. The quake resulted in a tsunami that ravaged Japan’s east
coast with a 23-foot wave, leaving hundreds dead or missing.
【例】四级考试中,只出现过一次专门的记叙文体裁的写作,即“An Early Morning Walk”(1988.6.),2003年6月出现过包含记叙文的作文,即“An Eye-Witness Account of a
Traffic Accident”。
An Early Morning Walk
12
One morning I got up very early, and everything around
was very quiet. The sun had just risen, shining brilliantly
and everything seemed to be covered with a layer of golden silk. There were only some birds singing occasionally in the tall trees. I strolled along the street toward the park,
breathing the fresh air and feeling extremely happy.
When I arrived at the park, I found, to my surprise,
that there were so many people there. Men and women,
boys and girls, all were enjoying themselves in their various activities. Some were doing morning exercises, some were
playing badminton and some old people were having their tea while talking to each other cheerfully.
I wandered around the park. To my delight, I found a
few middle-school students talking to each other in English in one corner of the park. I t up and spoke to them in English. We soon became friends. I was very glad to find another opportunity to practice my spoken English. On the way home, I realized that an early morning walk really was good and healthful. Taking early morning walks makes one healthy and wise.
13
要描述了早晨的特点(What was the setting),接着第二段第一句话交代地点(in the park),然后介绍公园里人们及作者的活动(What was happening),最后在文章结尾点题,即,归纳中心思想——Taking early morning walks makes one
healthy and wise.
1. 以“A Most Unlucky Day”为题,想想该怎么写。 When:
Where:
Who:
What:
Why:
How:
Why:

The other day, I was driving along the street. Suddenly, a car lost its control and ran directly towards me fast. I was so frightened that I quickly turned to the left side. But it was too late. The car hit my bike and I fell off it.
Little Tom was going to school with an umbrella, for it was raining hard. On the way, he saw an old woman walking in the rain with nothing to cover. Tom t up to the old woman and wanted to share the umbrella with her, but he was too short. What could he do? Then he had a good idea.
In my summer holidays, I did a lot of things. Apart form doing my homework, reading an English novel, watching TV and doing some housework, I t on a trip to Qingdao. It is really a beautiful city. There are many places of interest to see. But what impressed me most was the sunrise. The next morning I got up early. I was very happy because it was a fine day. By the time I got to the beach, the clouds on the horizon were turning red. In a little while, a small part of the sun was gradually appearing. The sun was very red, not shining. It rose slowly. At last it broke through the red clouds and jumped above the sea, just like a deep-red ball. At the same time the clouds and the
sea water became red and bright.
What a moving and unforgettable scene!
I was in the kitchen, and I was cooking something. Suddenly I heard a loud noise from the front. I thought maybe someone was knocking the door. I asked who it was but I heard no reply. After a while I saw my cat running across the parlor. I realized it was the cat. I felt released.
I was in the kitchen cooking something.
One night a man came to our house and told me,
When I finally came to that family, I saw the faces of those little children disfigured (破坏外貌) by hunger. There was no sorrow or sadness in their faces, just the deep pain of hunger.
I gave the rice to the mother. She divided the rice in two, and t out, carrying half the rice. When she came back, I asked her,
One day Xiaoqiang was wandering away. He was soon lost among people and traffic. He could not find the way back home and started crying. Just then, two young students who were passing by found him standing alone in front of a shop and crying. They t up to Xiaoqiang and asked him what had happened. Xiaoqiang told them how he got lost and where he lived. The two students decided to take him home. Mother was pleased to see Xiaoqiang e back safe and sound. She invited the two students into the house and gave them some money, but they didn't take it. She served them with tea but they left.
The other day, five-year-old Xiaoqiang left home alone and wandered happily in the street. After some time, he felt hungry so he wanted to go back home. But he found he was lost among the crowded people and heavy traffic. When he could not find the way home, he started and crying. Just then, two young students who were passing by from school found him sanding crying in front of a shop. They immediately t up to him.
And they spent the next two hours looking for the boy's house. With the help of a policeman, they finally found it.
When the worried mother saw her son e back safe and sound, she was so thankful and she invited the students into her house. Gratefully, she offered them some money, saying it was a way to express her thanks, but the young students firmly refused it and left without even a cup of tea.

1(B 由下文的that truck,以及As he would drive可以看出,这是爸爸用车送我去上学,所以选drive,意为:用车送。
5(A 下文有原词复现:a goodbye kiss。

五个“ W ”( what, who, when, where, why )和一个“ H ”( how )。
The other day, I was driving along the street. Suddenly, a car lost its control and ran directly towards me fast. I was so frightened that I quickly turned to the left side. But
it was too late.
Apart form doing my homework, reading
an English novel, watching TV and doing some housework, I t on a trip to Qingdao. It is really a beautiful city. There are many places of interest to see. But what impressed me most was the sunrise.
The next morning I got up early. I was very happy because it was a fine day. By the time I got to the beach, the clouds on the horizon were turning red. In a little while, a
small part of the sun was gradually appearing. The sun was very red, not shining. It rose slowly. At last it broke through the red clouds and jumped above the sea, just like
a deep-red ball. At the same time the clouds and the sea water became red and bright.
What a moving and unforgettable scene!
I was in the kitchen, and I was cooking something. Suddenly I heard a loud noise from the front. I thought maybe someone was knocking the door. I asked who it was but
I heard no reply. After a while I saw my cat running across the parlor. I realized it was the cat. I felt released.
I was in the kitchen cooking something. "Crash!" a loud noise came from the front. Thinking someone was knocking at the door, I asked, "Who?" No reply. After a while, I saw my cat running across the parlor. "It's you." I said, quite released.
One night a man came to our house and told me, "There is a family with eight children. They have not eaten for days." I took some food with me and t.
When I finally came to that family, I saw the faces of those little children disfigured (破坏外貌) by hunger. There was no sorrow or sadness in their faces, just the deep pain of hunger.
I gave the rice to the mother. She divided the rice in two, and t out, carrying half
the rice. When she came back, I asked her, "Where did you go?" she gave me this simple answer, "To my neighbors — they are hungry also!"
One day Xiaoqiang was wandering away. He was soon lost among people and traffic. He could not find the way back home and started crying. Just then, two young students
who were passing by found him standing alone in front of a shop and crying. My favourite person among the three is Helen Keller, an ordinary but great woman. She lost
her sight when she was three in an accident. But she overcame a lot of unimaginable difficulties to learn languages, and eventually she mastered 8 different languages and finished her book Three Days to See. I like Helen Keller for her optimism and perseverance. Disabled as she was, she didn't lose hope for life. Instead, she was eager to learn. Despite all the difficulties, she didn't give up halfway. The book she wrote is the best proof of her unrelenting efforts. The story of Helen Keller has a great influence on me. Whenever I want to quit because of the failure or frustration, the image of Helen Keller will flash into my mind. I seem to hear her saying, "A little more effort, and you will achieve your goal." We Need Advice from Older Generations"。

There are times when you meet with difficulties or find it hard to make a choice. It is the time
when the advice of the older generations is of great value.
Take my own experience as an example. At the end of Senior Two, I had to make a decision
whether to major in arts or science. Being good at science subjects, I intended to choose physics as my major. However, my best friend Lily chose geography, saying there would be more chances for us to be admitted into a key university because of relatively fewer examinees in this subject. Then I was at a loss which to choose.
Seeing I was hesitant, my father had a talk with me. He suggested that I should choose
according to my own interest and ability, regardless of others' thoughts. He told me my interest will inspire me to tap my potential fully and my ability will give me more confidence to overe difficulties.
With my father's help, I firmly chose physics and Lily, finally understood me and respected
my choice. From this experience, I realize that older generations, having rich experience, can help us young men make sensible decisions.

The whole nation was shocked at such a disaster. While feeling sorry for the victims, everyone felt a strong need to respond actively. As students living a peaceful life, we thought it our duty to lend our helping hands. After a heated discussion, we decided to urge more students to take part in the blood donation campaign.
To hit the original target of 300 bags of blood at the weekend, we made a considered plan. Before the day of donation, we got in touch with Xinhua hospital, persuading them to make our school a place to donate. Students were familiar with the environment and they had no trouble finding the place. Then we made and sent out leaflets, getting people well informed of some general knowledge of blood donation. On the day of donation, we were all in place with some students helping with the organization work and others keeping order. After each donation, we offered juice, milk and cookies just in time so that the donors could go about their daily activities soon. Each of us did his part conscientiously, making sure every donor's experience was a positive one. With bined efforts of all the students, teachers and medical workers, the campaign was a great success?
1.以" The Day I lam Looking forward to"为题写一篇作文,你的作文必须包括: a.
When I see the topic, I cannot help imagining the first day I go to work. I'm so looking forward to the day.
As we all know, working is so different from learning in the school where we receive knowledge passively. While working, we should learn new skills by ourselves and it's certain that we will face more challenges. Besides, working means independence. We can earn a living on our own instead of asking our parents for money. In the near future, we can even support our parents. So I'm looking forward to the day when I go to work.
I hope I will be employed by a multinational puter pany. On the first day, I will be dressed up formally, stepping into the pany full of vigour and enthusiasm. And I will greet everyone I meet in the pany with a gentle smile. Of course, all my colleagues will give me a big smile or a hug in return. I will be inspired by the efficiency of our group and then devoted to work wholeheartedly.
Of course, I should work harder from now, or my wonderful imagination will go in vain. Vm sure as long as I go all out, the day I'm looking forward to will e!
Teaching is one of the most glorious and respectable careers. I admire teachers for their devotion and strong sense of responsibility. On Teachers' Day, I'd like to express my innermost appreciation to all my teachers who offered me selfless love when I was in need.
I still remember how my teachers pulled me through the most difficult time when I did a bad job in the model test for the National College Entrance Examination. I was totally depressed, thinking I was finished, and almost gave up making any efforts. Then it was my teachers who noticed my bad mood and came to my rescue. Patiently, my English teacher helped me to analyze my mistakes and figure out where I should attach the greatest importance to. She encouraged me to carry on without thinking too much of the temporary defeat. My maths teacher gave me a precious gift一a collection of typical mistakes we students tend to make in exams. She told me not to care too much about the test results but to seek fun in learning. My class sponsor helped me reflect on all my strengths and weaknesses, assuring me that I would definitely fulfill my dream and attain my goal as long as I rebuilt self-confidence and made continuous efforts. None of them regarded me as being hopeless, nor did they turn a blind eye to my regression. Thanks to their timely help and affectionate love, I was stirred up to study even harder and made some progress. Many a time, I still cannot help looking back on the days with bitter and sweet memories. The images of my teachers flooded into my mind, vivid and lifelike. Perhaps I'll never have a chance to repay all that I have received from them. But I'll live up to their expectations and try to be a useful person worthy of their devotion.
Everyone is eager for happiness while their understanding towards it varies from individual to individual. Some people think that happiness is hard to get. But as far as I am concerned,
happiness lies everywhere in life.
Happiness is the loving care from our parents. Every night, when Mum es in quietly with a cup of hot tea, saying "Take it easy" or "Go to bed early", I find I have nothing to plain, nothing to fear and nothing to worry. My heart is full of warmth of happiness.
Happiness es from the support of our friends. When I am in failure and frustration, my friends always stay with me and cheer me up. They hold my hand and tell me that everything will be OK. Their encouragement gives me strength to go on, and makes me feel I am the happiest person in the world.
Happiness is that our love is spreading and felt. Last summer, I acted as an volunteer to take care of a girl from Wenchuan. I tried every means to help her regain confidence in life. Seeing smiles light up her face, I felt on top of the world.
To sum up, happiness belongs to people with a grateful heart. Happiness is in the heart of those who are willing to care for others. Be a person with gratitude, we will find ourselves surrounded by happiness.
4.以" The Most Unforgettable People"为题,记录世博期间“小白菜”们的感人事迹。
Since the Shanghai World Expo was held, millions of people had poured into the Expo area. I t there six times. Not only were the venues of different style impressed me deeply, but I was also touched by the group of volunteers who are nicknamed "Pak Choi cabbages".
They are young, lively and full of energy. They were in every corner of the area, greeting visitors from all over the world. With a broad smile and a pleasant voice, they made people feel wele. Whatever trouble visitors had, they would appear just in time to extend a helping hand. They explained patiently how to go to a particular venue, how long it took to wait to get in, what visitors could see and where to eat. They are devoted, responsible and enjoying serving people whole?heartedly. They were the first to arrive and the last to leave. They stuck to their posts regardless of the burning heat. On the hot summer days, they walked back and forth, with sweat dripping down from their faces. However, they never made any plaints, nor did they lose their enthusiasm.
These "Pak Choi cabbages" added colour to the 2010 Shanghai Expo. They brought happiness, warmth and convenience to people. They illustrated personally that a better city and a better life depend on the efforts of each individual. Inspired by their selfless deeds, I am determined to do my part for a more harmonious society.
With my high school life drawing to a close, I begin to consider some questions. Which university will I go to? Which university is best suited to my need? While thinking about these questions, many prestigious universities, at home and abroad, flash into my mind: Fudan University, Jiao Tong University, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford ... Gradually, a clear image of my ideal university emerges.
It is a place full of vigour and vitality, with a full view of green all year round. Here, students read aloud on campus. Here, students talk freely and happily under the sun or in the shade. Here, students take active part in physical exercise.
It is a place boasting the vast number of books in the spacious library, by access of which I will enrich myself and broaden my horizons day by day. I, as well as other creative young men,
will be free from unnecessary pressure, read for enjoyment earnestly.
It is a place where I will get to know some great teachers: mild, scholarly and knowledgeable, who are always ready to share with us what they know about the world. They never force us to learn, but give us opportunities for reflection and research. Their inspirational teaching style makes the courses an exciting voyage into the unknown.
Such is my ideal university, and I hope some day I will be there to enjoy the rich resources and embrace the challenges.
6.以" A Classmate Touching Our Class"为题,记叙一位令你感动的同学。
As the National College Entrance Examination is drawing near, most students in our class bury themselves in a sea of exercises, quite indifferent to the class affairs. In order to reverse the trend, a class meeting based on the theme "A classmate touching our class" is to be held next week. The moment I saw the title, a girl's image flashed into my mind.
To be frank, she is not as outstanding as you can imagine. Plain-looking, she never stands out among us. Yet what she has done over the past three years has deeply impressed us. She always follows the golden policy that unity and cooperation are the source of strength. However busy she is, she is willing to help those who turn to her for help. In spite of her poor health, never has she excused herself from the social practice or class activities. If my memory serves, every time our teacher needs help, she is the first to stand up. I still can vividly recall how she helped her deskmate pull through when that girl had her leg broken. Every morning, she waited at the door of her deskmate and acpanied her to school in the wheelchair. After school, she sent her home. At noon, she bought lunch for her. During the break, she helped her to the lavatory…She did all these things naturally without thinking about personal benefits or loss. She has won our admiration through her unselfish deeds.
Thinking of the girl, I feel warm and inspired as well. I decide I should take her as my example and try to be a person spreading love, care and warmth to others.
12 February, 2008
It was my Dad's birthday. In the afternoon, I t to the shopping mall in the city centre and selected a gift for him. Dad took great trouble to bring me up. I should show how I am appreciative of his caring love.
After buying a gift, I took the subway train home. Seated quietly there, I imagined how my Dad would respond on seeing the present. I was lost in thought when an old lady with two heavy bags got on the train and stood in front of me. She leaned against a bar, looking tired and weak. Without any hesitation, I offered my seat to her. The old lady thanked me with a relieved smile on her face, saying that I was considerate.
I was happy to be a responsible young man in the old lady's eyes. I got a sense of achievement for being a person of learning to show gratitude to people I love.

As a lucky student, I attended the NESCMSS held in the beautiful seaside city of Yantai from July 25 to 30, which was sponsored by the English Coaching Paper Office. Over 100 students all over the country and 30 English teaching experts at home and abroad took part in the activity. All the campers were required to speak English.
During the four days, a series of English activities were held including the "Second National English Debate for Senior High School Students" and the "Third National English Speech Competition for Senior High School Students". We also visited some places of interest. Besides, a colourful English evening was held. The camp provided us with a valuable opportunity to speak English, make friends and exchange learning experience. I found my English much improved at the end of the camp. Never in my life shall I forget the impressive days in Yantai.
In a little while, a
small part of the sun was gradually appearing. The sun was very red, not shining. It rose slowly. At last it broke through the red clouds and jumped above the sea, just like a deep-red ball. At the same time the clouds and the sea water became red and bright. What a moving and unforgettable scene!
I was in the kitchen, and I was cooking something. Suddenly I heard a loud noise from the front. I thought maybe someone was knocking the door. I asked who it was but I heard no reply. After a while I saw my cat running across the parlor. I realized it was the cat. I felt released.
I was in the kitchen cooking something. “Crash!” a loud noise came from the front. Thinking someone was knocking at the door, I asked, “Who?” No reply. After a while, I saw my cat running across the parlor. “It's you.” I said, quite released.
One night a man came to our house and told me, “There is a family with eight children. They have not eaten for days.” I took some food with me and t.
When I finally came to that family, I saw the faces of those little children disfigured (破坏外貌) by hunger. There was no sorrow or sadness in their faces, just the deep pain of hunger.
I gave the rice to the mother. She divided the rice in two, and t out, carrying half the rice. When she came back, I asked her, “Where did you go?” she gave me this simple answer, “To my neighbors — they are hungry also!”

Theotherday,,
LittleTomwasgoingtoschoolwithanumbrella,,,?Thenhehadagoodidea.
Inmysummerholidays,,readinganEnglishnovel,watchingTVanddoings
omehousework,
,,,,
whatamovingandunforgettablescene!
Iwasinthekitchen,
Iwasinthekitchencookingsomething.”crash!”,Iasked,”who?”,Isawmycatrunningacrosstheparlor.”It’syou.”Isaid,quitereleased.
onenightamancametoourhouseandtoldme,”“Itooksomefoodwithmeandt.
whenIfinallycametothatfamily,Isawthefacesofthoselittlechildrendisfi
gured(破坏外貌),justthedeeppainofhunger.
,andtout,,Iaskedher,”wheredidyougo?”shegavemethissimpleanswer,”Tomyneighbors-theyarehungryalso!”

Suddenly, a car lost its control and ran directly towards me fast. I was so frightened that I quickly turned to the left side. But it was too late. The car hit my bike and I fell off it. Little Tom was going to school with an umbrella, for it was raining hard. At the same time the clouds and the sea water became red and bright. What a moving and unforgettable scene! 5. I was in the kitchen, and I was cooking something.
