Peter Tchaikovsky
He is opera writer, ballet writer

this is the text of earl spencers tribute to his sister at her funeral. there
is some very deep, powerful and heartfelt sentiment. would that those at whom it is
aimed would take heed. the versions posted on several news services had minor errors.
this is precisely as it was deliverd. i stand before you today the
representative of a family in grief, in a country
in mourning before a world in shock. we are all united not only in our desire to pay our respects to diana but rather
in our need to do so. for such was her extraordinary appeal that the tens of millions of people taking
part in this service all over the world via television and radio who never actually
met her, feel that they, too, lost someone close to them in the early hours of sunday
morning. it is a more remarkable tribute to diana than i can ever hope to offer her
today. today is our chance to say thank you for the way you brightened our lives, even
though god granted you but half a life. we will all feel cheated, always, that you
were taken from us so young and yet we must learn to be grateful that you came along
at all. only now you are gone do we truly appreciate what we are now without and we want
you to know that life without you is very, very difficult. we have all despaired at our loss over the past week and only the strength of
the message you gave us through your years of giving has afforded
us the strength
to move forward. there is a temptation to rush to canonize your memory. there is no need to do
so. you stand tall enough as a human being of unique qualities not to need to be seen
as a saint. indeed to sanctify your memory would be to miss out on the very core of
your being, your wonderfully mischievous sense of humor with the laugh that bent you
double, your joy for life transmitted wherever you took your smile, and the sparkle
in those unforgettable eyes, your boundless energy which you could barely contain.but your greatest gift was your intuition, and it was a gift you used wisely.
this is what underpinned all your wonderful attributes. and if we look to analyze
what it was about you that had such a wide appeal, we find it in your instinctive
feel for what was really important in all our lives. without your god-given sensitivity, we would be immersed in greater ignorance
at the anguish of aids and hiv sufferers, the plight of the homeless, the isolation
of lepers, the random destruction of land mines. diana explained to me once that it
was her innermost feelings of suffering that made it possible for her to connect with
her constituency of the rejected. the world sensed this part of her character and cherished her for her
vulnerability, whilst admiring her for her honesty. the last time i saw diana was
on july the first, her birthday, in london, when typically she was not taking time
to celebrate her special day with friends but was guest of honor at a fund-raising
charity evening. she sparkled of course, but i would rather cherish the days i spent with her in
march when she came to visit me and my children in our home in south africa. i am
proud of the fact that apart from when she was on public display meeting president
mandela, we managed to contrive to stop the ever-present paparazzi from getting a
single picture of her. that meant a lot to her. these were days i will always treasure. it was as if wed been transported back
to our childhood, when we spent such an enormous amount of time together, the two
youngest in the family.fundamentally she hadnt changed at all from the big sister who mothered me as
a baby, fought with me at school and endured those long train journeys between our
parents homes with me at weekends. it is a tribute to her level-headedness and strength
that despite the most bizarre life imaginable after her childhood, she remained intact,
true to herself. there is no doubt that she was looking for a new direction in her life at this
time. she talked endlessly of getting away from england, mainly because of the treatment she
received at the hands of the newspapers. i dont think she ever understood why her genuinely good intentions were sneered
at by the media, why there appeared to be a permanent quest on their behalf to bring
her down. it is baffling. my own, and only, explanation is that genuine goodness is
threatening to those at the opposite end of the moral spectrum. it is a point to remember that of all the ironies about diana, perhaps
the greatest
was this; that a girl given the name of the ancient goddess of hunting was, in the
end, the most hunted person of the modern age. she would want us today to pledge ourselves to protecting her beloved boys william
and harry from a similar fate. and i do this here, diana, on your behalf. we will
not allow them to suffer the anguish that used regularly to drive you to tearful
despair.beyond that, on behalf of your mother and sisters, i pledge that we, your blood
family, will do all we can to continue the imaginative and loving way in which you
were steering these two exceptional young men, so that their souls are not simply
immersed by duty and tradition but can sing openly as you planned. we fully respect the heritage into which they have both been born, and will always
respect and encourage them in their royal role. but we, like you, recognize the need
for them to experience as many different aspects of life as possible, to arm them
spiritually and emotionally for the years ahead. i know you would have expected
nothing less from us. william and harry, we all care desperately for you today. we are all chewed up
with sadness at the loss of a woman who wasnt even our mother. how great your suffering
is we cannot even imagine.i would like to end by thanking god for the small mercies he has shown us at this
dreadful time; for taking diana at her most beautiful and radiant and when she had
joy in her private life.

general westmoreland, general grove, distinguished guests, and gentlemen of the
corps! as i was leaving the hotel this morning, a doorman asked me, where are you
bound for, general? and when i replied, west point, he remarked, beautiful place.
have you ever been there before?unhappily, i possess neither that eloquence of diction, that poetry of
imagination, nor that brilliance of metaphor to tell you all that they mean. the
unbelievers will say they are but words, but a slogan, but a flamboyant phrase. every
pedant, every demagogue, every cynic, every hypocrite, every troublemaker, and i am
sorry to say, some others of an entirely different character, will try to downgrade
them even to the extent of mockery and ridicule. and what sort of soldiers are those you are to lead? are they reliable? are they
brave? are they capable of victory? their story is known to all of you. it is the
story of the american man-at-arms. my estimate of him was
formed on the battlefield
many, many years ago, and has never changed. i regarded him then as i regard him now
-- as one of the worlds noblest figures, not only as one of the finest military
characters, but also as one of the most stainless. his name and fame are the birthright
of every american citizen. in his youth and strength, his love and loyalty, he gave
all that mortality can give. he needs no eulogy from me or from any other man. he has written his own history
and written it in red on his enemys breast. but when i think of his patience under
adversity, of his courage under fire, and of his modesty in victory, i am filled with
an emotion of admiration i cannot put into words. he belongs to history as furnishing
one of the greatest examples of successful patriotism. he belongs to posterity as
the instructor of future generations in the principles of liberty and freedom. he
belongs to the present, to us, by his virtues and by his
achievements. in 20 campaigns,
on a hundred battlefields, around a thousand campfires, i have witnessed that enduring
fortitude, that patriotic self-abnegation, and that invincible determination which
have carved his statue in the hearts of his people. from one end of the world to the
other hehas drained deep the chalice of courage.as i listened to those songs [of the glee club], in memorys eye i could see those
staggering columns of the first world war, bending under soggy packs, on many a weary
march from dripping dusk to drizzling dawn, slogging ankle-deep through the mire of
shell-shocked roads, to form grimly for the attack, blue-lipped, covered with sludge
and mud, chilled by the wind and rain, driving home to their objective, and for many,
to the judgment seat of god.i do not know the dignity of their birth, but i do know the glory of their death.always, for them: duty, honor, country; always their blood and sweat and tears,
as we sought the way and the light and the truth. the code which those words perpetuate embraces the highest moral laws and will
stand the test of any ethics or philosophies ever promulgated for the uplift of mankind.
its requirements are for the things that are right, and its restraints are from the
things that are wrong. the soldier, above all other men, is required to practice the greatest act of
religious training -- sacrifice.in battle and in the face of danger and death, he discloses those divine attributes
which his maker gave when he created man in his own image. no physical courage and
no brute instinct can take the place of the divine help which alone can sustain him.however horrible the incidents of war may be, the soldier who is called upon to
offer and to give his life for his country is the noblest development of mankind.you now face a new world -- a world of change. the thrust into outer space of
the satellite, spheres, and missiles mark the beginning of another epoch in the long
story of mankind. in the five or more billions of years the scientists tell us it
has taken to form the earth, in the three or more billion years of development of
the human race, there has never been a more abrupt or staggering evolution. we deal
now not with things of this world alone, but with the illimitabledistances and as yet unfathomed mysteries of the universe. we are reaching out
for a new and boundless frontier. we speak in strange terms: of harnessing the cosmic energy; of making winds and
tides work for us; of creating unheard synthetic materials to supplement or even
replace our old standard basics; to purify sea water for our drink; of mining ocean
floors for new fields of wealth and food; of disease preventatives to expand life
into the hundreds of years; of controlling the weather for a more equitable
distribution of heat and cold, of rain and shine; of space ships to the moon; of the
primary target in war, no longer limited to the armed forces of an enemy, but instead
to include his civil populations; of ultimate conflict between a united human race
and the sinister forces of some other planetary galaxy; of such
dreams and fantasies
as to make life the most exciting of all time. and through all this welter of change and development, your mission remains fixed,
determined, inviolable: it is to win our wars. others will debate the controversial issues, national and international, which
divide mens minds; but serene, calm, aloof, you stand as the nations war-guardian,
as its lifeguard from the raging tides of international conflict, as its gladiator
in the arena of battle. for a century and a half you have defended, guarded, and
protected its hallowed traditions of liberty and freedom, of right and justice. this does not mean that you are war mongers.

Hello everybody . My topic today is my favorite celebrity. And first, let me show you some picture, and can you guess who it is that I will introduce?
2nd
As you can see there are two picture. And the first is Apple I and the nest is Apple II.May be you will guess it should be Steve jobs. But the truth is,the man I will introduce is –Stephen Gray Wozniak.Know as ―Woz‖.
3rd
here is a brief introduction about him.
He is an American inventor ,electronics engineer ,and puter programmer who cofounded Apple Computer with Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne .Wozniak
single-handedly designed both the Apple I and Apple II
1
puter in the late 1970s.These puter contributed significantly to the microputer revolution. 4st
Woz was born in San Jose ,California ,The name on Wozniak’ birth certificate is ―Stephan Gary Wozniak‖ ,but Steve’s mother said that she intended it to be spelled ―Stephen‖, and ―Steve‖ is what he uses.
Wozniak has been referred to frequently by the nickname Woz, The Wonderful Wizard of Woz, or The Woz.; WoZ (short for ) is also the name of a pany Wozniak founded. In the early 1970s Wozniak was also known as Berkeley Blue in the munity.
5st
Here is a picture of Woz when he was eleven years old. As we can learn that Woz start learn electronics very young. In his Autobiography iWoz,he said‖ These early works really contribute to hone my patience, from third grade to eighth grade I did most projects, I learned more and more, many times I do not refer to any book to know how to connect electronic devices.‖
6nd
In a 2007 interview with ABC News, Wozniak recounted how and when he first met Steve Jobs. He said: We first met
2
in 1971 during my college years, while he was in high school. A friend said, 'you should meet Steve Jobs, because he likes electronics and he also plays pranks.' So he introduced us.And from the photo we can see that Jobs and Woz have a really close friendship. Here is a small story about their early start.
In 1973, pany Atari paid Jobs several thousand dollars because Jobs and Woz’s work. But Jobs told
Wozniak that Atari gave them only $700 and that
Wozniak's share was thus $350. Wozniak did not learn about the actual bonus until ten years later, but said that if Jobs had told him about it and had said he needed the money, Wozniak would have given it to him. 7st
In 1976, Wozniak developed the puter that eventually made him famous. He alone designed the hardware, circuit board designs, and operating system for the Apple I. Jobs had the idea to sell the Apple I as a fully assembled printed circuit board. Wozniak, at first skeptical, was later convinced by Jobs that even if they were not successful they could at least say to their grandkids
they had had their own pany. The funny thing is that Apple I sold for $666.66. Wozniak later said he had no idea
3
about the relation between the number and the mark of the beast, and I came up with [it] because I like repeating digits.
8nd
Wozniak lives in Los Gatos, California. He is a Freemason, despite not having faith in a supreme being (which is required by Masonic rules). Wozniak describes his impetus for joining the Freemasons as being able to spend more time with his wife at the time.
9nd
Wozniak was married to Candice Clark from June 1981 to 1987. They have three children together, the youngest being born after their divorce was finalized. After a high-profile relationship with actress Kathy Griffin, Wozniak married Janet Hill, his current spouse.[[
10nd
This is Woz’s Autobiography.And I searched a
Abbreviated introduction of his book.
As the sole inventor of the Apple I and II puters, Wozniak has enjoyed wealth, fame, and the most coveted awards an engineer can receive, and he tells his story here for the first time.

ladies and gentlemen~ im very honored to stand here and
give you a short speech! to begin with ,i want
to ask a question .does everybody dream a good dream last night? actually ,today i want to talk about dream with you. of course, what i want to
talk is not a dream you have last night, but a dream——
about life. everyone has dreams about life, different dreams at different life stage, and we
need dreams to support us. dreams are like the stars we never reach in the sky,but
like most mariners(水手),we can chart our course by
them. with the dream,we have
a direction, with a direction, we were no longer confused.with the dream, there is
hope, with hope, we have the strength to fight. my breath swallows the sky and make the yellow river overflow, my sword is famous
in kyushu and it can collapse the five sacred mountains. at some time in the past
i also had am bitious words and i had some achievements.
5
each achievement results
from my hard work. i always believe that if you want to have more achievements than
others, you must work harder.hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot
fly. hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow.
so my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. whatever it is, pick
it up and make it alive from today. lets--- move ----out! thank you for your listening!

演讲稿三:三分钟英语励志演讲稿——we are the
world ,we are the future someone said we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose
pages are infinite. i dont know who wrote these words, but ive always liked them as
a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. we are all in the position
of the farmers. if we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. if we plant nothing
at all, we harvest nothing at all. we are young. how to spend the youth? it is a meaningful question. to answer it,
first i have to ask what do you understand by the word youth? youth is not a time
of life, its a state of mind. its not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple
knees. its the matter of the will. its the freshness of the deep spring of life.a poet said to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower,
hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. several days ago,
i had a chance to listen to a lecture. i learnt a lot there. id
7
like to share it with
all of you. lets show our right palms. we can see three
lines that show how our love.career and life is. i have a short line of life.
what about yours? i wondered whether we could see our future in this way. well, lets
make a fist. where is our future? where is our love, career, and life? tell me.yeah,
it is in our hands. it is held in ourselves.we all want the future to be better than the past. but the future can go better
itself. dont cry because it is over, smile because it happened. from the past, weve
learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. weve learnt that we cant choose
how we feel, but we can choose what about it. failure doesnt mean you dont have it,
it does mean you should do it in a different way. failure doesnt mean you should give
up, it does mean you must try harder. as what i said at the beginning, we are reading the first verse of the first chapter
of a book, whose pages are infinite. the past has gone. nothing we do will change
8
it. but the future is in front of us. believe that what we give to the world, the
world will give to us. and from today on, lets be the owners of ourselves, and speak
out we are the world, we are the future.
演讲稿good morning everybody, i’m very glad to stand here
and give you a short speech.
we all know that bingxin has a famous saying ―we always admire the beauty of flowers
but its sprout was watered by tears of struggle and rained by blood of sacrifice‖.
so for the majority, behind their success, are filled of sweat and tears. eagle flying in the vast firmament, must be experienced the pain of countless
times fall under the cliff, then hammered out a pair of volley wings. a shinning of
pearls, inevitably suffered countless body friction and numerous waves’ shock. in
this view, a real successful people, and he must experienced numerous times to stand
up again and agin after failed, because without sweat and tears on the life road ,no
9
one can casually get the beautiful flowers. alfter a heavy fall shi tiesheng lost his legs, it must be a heavy blow for anyone.
but he didnt lose faith in life, but use his brain and hands to show the infinite
love of life; beethoven was blind and deaf, but he still had written the hero destiny
and so on a large number of music works, in his unfortunately life, he doggedly gripped
the fate of the throat. they all had a fall, but they are strong enough to stand up,
fight against fate and misfortune, finally they succeed. so for each of us, wrestling
is not terrible, lose confidence and courage in life is the most terribe thing. in
my opionion, the sweat and tears during the life’ journey
are very important for
us, they hone our will, and eich our experience. as the saying goes, how can you
see the rainbow without a rainy day, while you dont work hard and not struggle, how
can you gain the successful flowers. all in all, the sweat
10
and tears on the struggling road is inevitable, don’t look
for shortcuts anymore, steadfast walk every step, we will succeed in the end. so belief
yourself, nothing is impossile, just do it. thank you for taking your time to listen to my speech, i hope in the near future
we all can be successful.
语演讲稿(一) what is nature? its everything that exists in the world independently of people,
such as pants and animals, earth and rocks, and the weather.now more and more people
are focusing on the nature. it is no doubt that the nature is important to every human being. no nature, no life.because of the supplies of the nature, we have lived happily for a long time.and we started to gain every thing available from the nature.and this lasted so long a time.today, people have discovered that the nature around is getting worse and
worse.what is threatening the nature? air and water pollution, over harvesting of
plant and animal species, overpopulation and so on. overpopulation is the biggest source of pollution. lets take
11
overpopulation as an example.what does overpopulation feel like? when
we move slowly through the city in a taxi. when we enter a crowded slum district. when the temperature is high and when the air is thick with dust and smoke. the streets are crowded with people. the streets seem alive with people. people eating. people washing. people talking. people sleeping.people visiting each other, arguing and screaming. people relieving themselves.people pushing their hands through the taxi windows, begging.people leading animals. people, people, people, people.as we drive slowly through the crowd, sounding the taxis horn, the dust, heat,
noise and cooking fires made it like a scene from hell! i admit, frightening.to the
nature, overpopulation is a big problem. more people, more pollution.and the big population is threatening the nature every second.the rapid rise in
world population is not creating problems only for the developing countries. the whole world faces the problem that raw materials are being used up at an
increasing rate and food production can not keep up with the population increase.people in rich countries make the
12
heaviest demands on the worlds resources, its
food, fuel and land, and cause the most pollution.a baby born in the united states will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the
worlds resources than a baby born in india. unless all the countries of the world take united action to deal with the
population explosion there will be more and more people fighting for a share of less
and less land, food and fuel, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war to
us all.for most of the developing countries, it is a good idea to control the
population growth.

Hello everybody . My topic today is my favorite celebrity. And first, let me show you some picture, and can you guess who it is that I will introduce?
2nd
As you can see there are two picture. And the first is Apple I and the nest is Apple II.May be you will guess it should be Steve jobs. But the truth is,the man I will introduce is –Stephen Gray
Wozniak.Know as “Woz”.
3rd
here is a brief introduction about him.
He is an American inventor ,electronics engineer ,and puter programmer who cofounded Apple Computer with Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne .Wozniak single-handedly designed both the Apple I and Apple II puter in the late 1970s.These puter contributed significantly to the microputer revolution. 4st
Woz was born in San Jose ,California ,The name on Wozniak’
birth certificate is “Stephan Gary Wozniak” ,but Steve’s mother
said that she intended it to be spelled “Stephen”, and “Steve”
is what he uses.
In his Autobiography iWoz,he said” These early works really contribute to
hone my patience, from third grade to eighth grade I did most projects, I learned more and more, many times I do not refer to any book to know how to connect electronic devices.”
6nd
In a 2007 interview with ABC News, Wozniak recounted how and when he first met Steve Jobs. He said: We first met in 1971 during my college years, while he was in high school.
But Jobs told Wozniak that Atari gave them only $700 and that Wozniak's share was thus $350.
Wozniak later said he had no idea about the relation between the number and the mark of the beast, and I came up with [it] because I like repeating digits.
After a high-profile relationship with
actress Kathy Griffin, Wozniak married Janet Hill, his current spouse.[[
10nd
This is Woz’s Autobiography.And I searched a Abbreviated
introduction of his book.
As the sole inventor of the Apple I and II puters, Wozniak has enjoyed wealth, fame, and the most coveted awards an engineer can receive, and he tells his story here for the first time.

gentlemen~ im very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! to begin with ,i want
to ask a question .does everybody dream a good dream last night? actually ,today i want to talk about dream with you. of course, what i want to
talk is not a dream you have last night, but a dream—— about life.
everyone has dreams about life, different dreams at different life stage, and we
need dreams to support us. dreams are like the stars we never reach in the sky,but
like most mariners(水手),we can chart our course by them. with
the dream,we have
a direction, with a direction, we were no longer confused.with the dream, there is
hope, with hope, we have the strength to fight. my breath swallows the sky and make the yellow river overflow, my sword is famous
in kyushu and it can collapse the five sacred mountains. at some time in the past
i also had am bitious words and i had some achievements. each achievement results
from my hard work. i always believe that if you want to have more achievements than
others, you must work harder.hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot
fly. hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow.
so my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. whatever it is, pick
it up and make it alive from today. lets--- move ----out! thank you for your listening!
star catch the star that holds your destiny, the one that forever twinkles w ithin
your heart.
accept the fact that not ev eryone is going to approve of the choices youve made.
have faith in your judgment. catch the star that twinkles in your heart and it will
lead you t o your destinys path.value your capabilities and talents for they are what make you truly unique. the
greatest gifts in life are not purchased, but acquired through hard work and
determination.
演讲稿三:三分钟英语励志演讲稿——we are the world ,we are
the future someone said we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose
pages are infinite. i dont know who wrote these words, but ive always liked them as
a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. we are all in the position
of the farmers. if we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. if we plant nothing
at all, we harvest nothing at all. we are young. how to spend the youth? it is a meaningful question. to answer it,
first i have to ask what do you understand by the word youth?
youth is not a time
of life, its a state of mind. its not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple
knees. its the matter of the will. its the freshness of the deep spring of life.a poet said to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower,
hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. several days ago,
i had a chance to listen to a lecture. i learnt a lot there. id like to share it with
all of you. lets show our right palms. we can see three
lines that show how our love.career and life is. i have a short line of life.
what about yours? i wondered whether we could see our future in this way. well, lets
make a fist. where is our future? where is our love, career, and life? tell me.yeah,
it is in our hands. it is held in ourselves.we all want the future to be better than the past. but the future can go better
itself. dont cry because it is over, smile because it happened. from the past, weve
learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. weve learnt that
we cant choose
how we feel, but we can choose what about it. failure doesnt mean you dont have it,
it does mean you should do it in a different way. failure doesnt mean you should give
up, it does mean you must try harder. as what i said at the beginning, we are reading the first verse of the first chapter
of a book, whose pages are infinite. the past has gone. nothing we do will change
it. but the future is in front of us. believe that what we give to the world, the
world will give to us. and from today on, lets be the owners of ourselves, and speak
out we are the world, we are the future.
good morning everybody, i’m very glad to stand here and give you a
short speech.
we all know that bingxin has a famous saying “we always admire
the beauty of flowers
but its sprout was watered by tears of struggle and rained by blood of sacrifice”.
so for the majority, behind their success, are filled of sweat and tears. eagle flying in the vast firmament, must be experienced the
pain of countless
times fall under the cliff, then hammered out a pair of volley wings. a shinning of
pearls, inevitably suffered countless body friction and numerous waves’ shock. in
this view, a real successful people, and he must experienced numerous times to stand
up again and agin after failed, because without sweat and tears on the life road ,no
one can casually get the beautiful flowers. alfter a heavy fall shi tiesheng lost his legs, it must be a heavy blow for anyone.
but he didnt lose faith in life, but use his brain and hands to show the infinite
love of life; beethoven was blind and deaf, but he still had written the hero destiny
and so on a large number of music works, in his unfortunately life, he doggedly gripped
the fate of the throat. they all had a fall, but they are strong enough to stand up,
fight against fate and misfortune, finally they succeed. so for each of us, wrestling
is not terrible, lose confidence and courage in life is the most
terribe thing. in
my opionion, the sweat and tears during the life’ journey are
very important for
us, they hone our will, and eich our experience. as the saying goes, how can you
see the rainbow without a rainy day, while you dont work hard and not struggle, how
can you gain the successful flowers. all in all, the sweat and tears on the struggling road is inevitable, don’t look
for shortcuts anymore, steadfast walk every step, we will succeed in the end. so belief
yourself, nothing is impossile, just do it. thank you for taking your time to listen to my speech, i hope in the near future
we all can be successful.

gettysburg, pennsylvania november 19,1863 four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent,a new
nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
now we are engaged in agreat civil war, testing whether that nation,or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.we are met on agreat field,as afinal resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live.it is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
but,in alarger sense,we can not dedicate--we can not consecrate--we can not hallow--this ground.the brave men,living and dead,who struggled
here, have consecrated it,far above our poor power to add or
detract.the world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never
forget what they did here.it is for us the living, rather,to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced.it is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us--that from these honored dead we take increased
devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of
devotion--that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died
in vain--that this nation, under god, shall have anew birth of freedom--and that government of the people,by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
