The rising housing price
Nowadays, public concern has been paid to sharply increasing housing price in big
cities in China, which deserves intensive research and study. Keeping rising expenses
on housing has bee a big financial burden for mon citizens, especially those
with low-ine. This will result in the decline of living standard and plaints
from the mass.
There are several factors accounting for this phenomenon. In Beijing, demand for
houses is always increasing. Every year, some 300,000-400,000 people e to work
in Beijing from other provinces across China and these people need houses. In
addition, many old houses in the city’s downtown areas are being torn down and
people who previously lived in these houses need to be relocated.
Several measures can be taken by the government to control rising housing prices. For
example, since many low-cost houses and economical houses are launched into the
market this year, housing price won't climb very much. In addition, low-rent houses
and other housing projects that aim to increase house supply are expected to drag the
high housing price down somewhat.
On the Food Security.
Over the past couple of years, several cases of the food scandal have been disclosed
on various media. The problem of food security has bee a hot button across
society. The prevalence of food insecurity has greatly impacted public health, which
the government could not afford to ignore, according to the online edition of the
People Daily.
There are a couple of driving forces, I would argue, behind this undesirable tide.
First, in the course of the rapid economic evolution, we ignore moral education,
giving rise to the rising rate of the problem. More importantly, the lack of adequate
regulation and punishment on those illegal producers enforces the trend.
As Confucius instructed, it is better late than never. Prompt and strict measures
should be taken to turn back this evil trend. The government should launch a massive
moral campaign to educate all citizens and draw up tougher laws to crack down on
those irresponsible corporations and prohibit them from entering the food industry
again. I am firmly convinced that through our bined efforts we are bound to enjoy
more risk-free foods in the days ahead.
Celebrities as the Products' Spokesmen
In the contemporary society, it is very mon for celebrities, or the so-called
superstars, to be spokesmen or representatives for a wide variety of products.
Celebrities' advertisements can be easily found on the Internet, televisions,
newspapers, magazines and even on the walls of some buildings.
There are, however, some problems for celebrities and the consumers. To begin with,
before representing, a star may know nothing about the product. Thus, consumers
may be misled. Even worse, for the sake of money, some stars advertise for items
with low quality, even for fake modities. In the case of Sanlu, the public image of
stars involved was spoiled. Last but not least, the high ine of advertising does not
deserve their labor, which widens the gap between the poor and the rich.
From my point of view, it is high time that measures were taken to eliminate the
demerits. Firstly, laws should be worked out to regulate celebrities' advertising.
Secondly, stars should be required to tell the truth to the public. Only by doing so can
stars be trusted by their fans and can consumers benefit.
The Significance of Expo 2010 Shanghai
So what is the significance of Expo 2010 Shanghai? There is no doubt the Chinese
people will present to the world a successful, splendid and unforgettable exposition.
Expo 2010 Shanghai China is a great event to explore the full potential of urban life in
the 21st century and a significant period in urban evolution. Fifty-five percent of the
world population is expected to live in cities by the year 2010. The prospect of future
urban life, a subject of global interest, concerns all nations, developed or less
developed, and their people. Being the first World Exposition on the theme of city,
Exposition 2010 will attract governments and people from across the world, focusing
on the theme "Better City, Better Life." For its 184 days, participants will display
urban civilisation to the full extent, exchange their experiences of urban development,
disseminate advanced notions on cities and explore new approaches to human habitat,
lifestyle and working conditions in the new century. They will learn how to create an
eco-friendly society and maintain the sustainable development of human beings.
Expo 2010 Shanghai China will centre on innovation and interaction. Innovation is
the soul, while cultural interaction is an important mission of the World Expositions.
In the new era, Expo 2010 Shanghai China will contribute to human-centred
development, scientific and technological innovation, cultural diversity and win-win
cooperation for a better future, thus posing a melody with the key notes of
highlighting innovation and interaction in the new century.
Expo 2010 Shanghai China will also be a grand international gathering. On the one
hand, we shall endeavor to attract about 200 nations and international organizations to
take part in the exhibition as well as 70 million visitors from home and abroad,
ensuring the widest possible participation in the history of the World Expositions. On
the other hand, we will put Expo 2010 Shanghai China in a global perspective and do
our best to encourage the participation and gain the understanding and support of
various countries and peoples, in order to turn Expo 2010 Shanghai China into a
happy reunion of people from all over the world.
Advertising Needs a Real Check
Advertisement is shown everywhere, in big shops, in narrow streets, in city centers as
well as in the countryside, on radios as well as on TV screens. All the words used in
advertising are charming and fascinating. They are attractive, but not all of them are
based on facts. In order to sell their products more quickly, many businessmen use
exaggeration, or, sometimes, cheating languages.
Thus, many problems can be caused by the disagreement between reality and
advertising. People buy washing machines, but they don't wash. People buy radios,
but they don't sing. A person with insomnia, it is said, bought and took some sleeping
pills, but he was not drowsy at all.
Of course, the consumers would bee very angry and they would go to law against the above merchants. Sometimes, things would bee even worse. Some lives would be lost in the disputes.
To avoid these tragedies, we must take some measures. For example, the government
should make some laws against the overstatement of some advertisements. If some
producers boast too much we should also be on the alert against some false
advertisements. Things will bee better if we all do our best to correct this
phenomenon in our society.
Do Only Children Need Setback Experience?
Some people think that only children needn’t't setback experience, and only
children should not be subjected to strict demands. In their eyes, experiencing setback
makes these sensitive children feel being underdogs (战败者). Therefore, letting
down only children spiritually is harmful to their psychological wellbeing(心理健康).
However, some people hold opposite opinions. They claim that setback experience is
beneficial to only children. It encourages children to practice their skills and ability
and work on their weak points, and fulfill its goal of getting them used to real and
petitive society. Going through some setback may contribute to the shape of their personal character in the future.
In my opinion, setback experience should be urgently advocated (倡导). Setback experience acquires new meaning in today's era (时代) of change. The road to success starts from the beginning, and our world is one full of petitions, If only children have never had any setback, in the long run they won't bear any setback or failure in life. Some setback early on may make them ready for very challenging issues at a later date.
Information Security
The human beings are stepping into the information society. The information industry develops very rapidly, so do the hackers, trick-playing teens, exploring children, fraudsters, and serious white-collar criminals. Thus, information security bees an impending important issue.
In case of information breach, the victims-----government department, an organization or an institution, or a pany will inevitably suffer great or small loss. Government may be threatened with national security. Companies may lose opportunities to develop new projects. And the public’s and users’ confidence will be damaged.
Then how to deal with this issue? Technology is only a partial solution to information security. What’s more important is that organizations and panies should promote the awareness on information security to its staff. However, since no system can ever be 100 percent secure, a prevention-only approach to information security management is not enough. Companies and organizations should adopt a dual approach to information security management by bing prevention and detection techniques.
Low-carbon lifestyle
Nowadays, there are a considerable number of individuals who prefer to lead a low-carbon lifestyle which find expression in the fact that more and more muters are using public transportation system in their daily life.
Low carbon lifestyle can endow us and our society with numerous benefits. Firstly, it goes beyond doubt that low carbon lifestyle contributes a lot to the environmental protection and it is a favorable way to slow down the rate of climate change of our earth, which also means a lot to our health.
We are supposed to undertake the responsibility to lead a low-carbon lifestyle, which is of great significance. And there is a diversity of measures we can take so as to lead such an environmental-friendly life. For one thing, we are expected to minimize the use of private cars, which emit a large amount of greenhouse gases. For another, we are supposed to cultivate the public awareness of energy conservation for energy in the world today is decreasing rapidly. For instance, we can turn off electrical appliances if not necessary as well as using renewable materials. Furthermore, at our leisure, we can seek opportunities to plant more trees which can absorb
carbon-dioxide.
In brief, low-carbon lifestyle is nothing but the best choice for us and only in this way can we form a harmonious relationship with the environment.
1.My Views On Campus Security
Campus Crimes seriously affect students school lives. Because of the campus crime, the quiet environment of study is broken. And students couldn’t have class freely. It would make students live in fear and worry about their own safety. They couldn’t study by heart. They would even lose confidence of the people and the society day by day when campus crime is serious.
In my opinion, there are several ways to improve the campus security in schools. First, we must pull together to fight against the crime. Second, students should take their responsibility to find out the suspicious people or unusual events on the campus. Security guards should patrol the campus day and night more carefully. Last , the government should pay more attention to campus security and do something to reduce the crime.
2.My Views On Campus Security
Nowadays campus is no longer a secure place where we can study happily since many massacres have taken place in this peaceful land. For example,on,March,23,2010,a tragedy occurred in Nan Ping, Fu Jian. A man called Zheng Minsheng, broke into a primary school, killing 8 students within one minute, five were badly injured. It was inhuman and horrible.
Though the killers have been sentenced to death, but this nightmare has great impact on the students. Especially students that have been hurt. Though they can recover their body, what about their mental problems? What's more, students who saw this massacre also got some physical problems, some even can't speak for days. Parents ,who lost their child, cried their heart out. Since then, parents pick up their children personally out of concern, some even hire a nursery maid to pick up their children. Fear spread quickly through the city.
We may wonder why these tragedies would happen? Is that because the killers from impoverished or extremely violent families? They don't appear to have been picked on any worse than kids have been for generation. In essence, it's the widening gap between the rich and the poor that cause their mental problems. They are friendly in normal times, some even being a doctor. As the society couldn't provide them with equality and opportunity, they are under great pressure of high house price and unemployment. Some may get emotional issues.
So we should prefect our system and laws and pay more attention to those underclass.
Most importantly, it’s the campus's responsibility to take measures to enhance their secure systems. Firstly, teachers should warn students of the importance of self-protection and educate them how to protect themselves. Secondly, campus should
increase their security instruments and arrange more security men after school. Last but not the least, campus should open the door to let students who arrive early, in case that some evil person make take the opportunity to hurt them.
It's our responsibility to protect both the students and ourselves. Don't treat it lightly.
Certificate Craze
Certificate Craze On Campus In recent years, getting a certificate has bee a new craze among college students. Just randomly ask a student on campus what he or she is busy doing, quite possibly, you may get the answer that he or she is preparing for a certificate of some kind. Why does this craze appear? There are mainly two reasons behind this phenomenon.
First, it is the employment pressure that forces college students to get more certificates. With the admission expansion of colleges, a lot more graduates have to face the fierce petition in the job market. How can one make himself more petitive? More certificates at hand, maybe. Second, diploma and certificates are still important standards by which many employers measure a person’s ability. In order to increase the qualifications for a job, the students pel themselves to run from one exam to another. From my point of view, we should be more rational when it es to certificates, since certificates do not necessarily prove one’s ability. Being crazy in getting certifications blindly is nothing but wasting time.
To conclude, we should focus on improving our ability ]but not getting a certificate of no practical value.
Self-learning and teacher's guide
A lot of successful stories in which the main characters did not go to school but achieved unusual acplishments by teaching themselves are told in many countries and inspired many people to pursue their dreams. However, for mon people, the efficient and attractive way of learning is to have a teacher. Teachers can clarify the learning goals or directions, interact with students, and create effective learning spheres.
To begin with, teachers set a clear study plan and direction for students. How can students quickly involve in the new field? What can students achieve after finishing learning? Teachers try to answer these questions by appointing reading materials, giving lectures, evaluating students. By such diverse approaches, students can learn more about what they are taking, and understand what they are studying. On the other hand, learning by themselves, people do not know where to go and what to read. Eventually, they lose their interests or lack sound knowledge in their field. There is another important factor affecting learning—interaction. Apparently, teachers can ask question to assess how well students understand; in turn, students raise their confusions to require answers. The interaction between teachers and students results to further improvements of the learning and to more clear directions. In contrast, learning by themselves, people cannot receive the necessary and sound information. Even though they have questions about the subjects, they cannot get the answers immediately, and they do not have opportunity to discuss deeply.
Finally, students who learn from teachers have a more effective learning spheres associated with classmates or professionals. Not only can students discuss questions and hence
make more progress, but also establish solid network that enable them to access to updated information. However, learning by themselves, people are alone in their learning. Furthermore, they cannot update their knowledge that is critical for the learning.
Therefore, paring with learning by people themselves, learning from teachers is more effective and efficient. Those students who learn from teachers form a network in their field as well as getting updated knowledge. When people want to study, do not forget to get a teacher.
Drunk Driving
Nobody could have failed to notice the fact that drunk driving has bee a grave problem in China in the past few years. Reports are often heard about deaths and injuries resulting from drunk driving. Actually, the phenomenon has been so widespread that it has caused nationwide concern. A number of factors might have led to this problem, but the following are the critical ones. First, as a nation known for wine and drinking, Chinese have the custom of urging guests to drink more and regard it as a sign of hospitality. Some even encourage drivers to drink. Secondly, the boom of Chinese economy in the past decades has brought along a sharp increase in the number of private cars in this country. However, many drivers are not fully aware of the danger of driving after drinking. Last but not least, laws and regulations regarding drunk driving were not severe enough in the past. To our relief, we can see pertinent laws and regulations have been worked out and enforced to punish those who drive after drinking. However, I believe that more can be done to eliminate drunk driving. For one thing, severer laws can be made and put into effect. For another, the public should be educated about the harmfulness of drunk driving and the importance of traffic safety.
Drunken Driving
Nobody could have failed to notice the fact that drunken driving has been a grave problem with which we are confronted. Generally speaking, there are several reasons accounting for /behind this phenomenon. Firstly, recent decades have witnessed the rapid development of people’s living standards. As a result, cars gained ever-increasing popularity and have found their way into our everyday life. Secondly, people participate in more activities or banquets than ever before, where they will drink liquor/strong wine. Then, they may get drunk but continue to drive.
Drunken driving is bound to generate severe consequence if we keep turning a blind eye to it. Firs and foremost, this behavior will directly threaten the safety of drivers, passengers and pedestrians/goers, resulting in traffic accidents, injuries and even deaths. Besides,.0393gq. treating the injured and repairing broken cars mean a grievous waste of money, time and resources. Last but not least, this irresponsible driving will make the road a nightmare, and thus, it will causes serious losses of faith in governments and the society.
In view of the seriousness of this problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. First, it is essential that the supervisory role of laws and regulations should be strengthened to punish those performing drunken driving. Secondly, the public, especially drivers, should enhance their awareness of public safety. With stringent laws and alert public, it will only a matter of time for drunken driving to bee things of past.
The only way to reduce the rising number of road accidents is for a total ban on drinking while driving. Do you agree or disagree? Make other remendations. The discussion about whether or not the government should have a total ban on drinking while driving is a very controversial one. There are people on both sides of the argument who have different opinions.
Since speeding is the leading cause of accidents, and alcohol makes people less careful and more likely to speed, it makes sense to totally ban drinking while driving. In fact, lots of road accidents are caused by drinking alcohol, and alcohol did great damage to people’s health, especially people’s cerebellum. After drinking alcohol, the person cannot even walk normally, how can he drive a car in such a bad condition? Besides, in countries where it is illegal to drink and drive, the road death toll is far less than in countries which allow alcohol in the bloodstream while driving. Finally, the only persons against a total ban are the manufactures of alcoholic drinks and pub owners, and these two groups are political influential and wealthy. But in other words, other people disagree with them.
Many people, however, argue that it is wrong to make a total ban on drinking
while driving. Tests proved that most car accidents occur as a result of speeding.
Drivers still speed even when they have not been drinking alcohol. Targeting alcohol does not stop people speeding. For example, nowadays some young people want to have something exciting to do and just speeding with their cars on the road, it can also cause danger to others and even more dangerous than drinking while driving.
Moreover, why only ban alcohol? There are many other drugs which impair one’s ability to drive. The plete ban of only one substance makes on sense.
Craze for Civil Service Examinations
Every year hundreds of thousands of people in China take civil service exams conducted at various levels in the hope of being government employees. Among them, college graduates are a fast-growing force that can’t be ignored. The craze for being a civil servant is not limited to liberal arts majors, as it’s also gaining
popularity among science and engineering students.
In the final analysis, this growing trend among the youngsters is mainly
attributable to two factors – ambitions and forts. On one hand, many ambitious college graduates view these exams as a springboard to a higher social status, greater power and prestige, on which many of their other wishes rest. On the other, as being a civil servant generally means a stable ine, enviable healthcare and pension
programmes, as well as other forts of life, it’s quite an appealing career option to many people, especially in this age of sluggish world economy.
Personally, the desire to be a government official is beyond reproach, as the
nation and the people do need an injection of new blood into the civil service sectors.
The fresh-faced college graduates, armed with lofty ideals, new vision, and strong drive, are undoubtedly among the best candidates.
Security or Privacy?
In recent years, security cameras are installed in public places for the
purpose of preventing and bating crimes. This phenomenon has sparked many debates. Most people wele it and believe these cameras play a positive role in
maintaining people’s security, while still some others think installing cameras infringe people’s privacy rights.
Those supporters maintain that installing cameras in public places,
especially some key sites, can provide law enforcement agencies with criminal
evidence. Moreover, they say that installation of cameras is a good deterrent to those with intentions of crimes. However, those protesting this practice claim that the
government shouldn’t sacrifice millions of citizens’ privacy rights only for monitoring probably nonexistent crimes.
As to me, I prefer the former opinion. In my opinion, As far as public
security situation is concerned, the installation of security cameras is quite necessary to maintaining citizens’ security. On the other hand, people needn’t feel
unfortable for being monitored by a camera in public places since everything we do outside can be seen by some other people. To conclude, the advantages of
installing cameras in public places much outweigh its disadvantages.
Should Universities lower Admission Requirements for Celebrities?
In recent years, many famous universities lower admission requirements for celebrities. More and more celebrities, especially sports stars, have been admitted to famous universities even without an entry examination. This phenomenon has bee a subject of widespread controversy. Some people object strongly that universities lower admission requirements for celebrities. They hold that this admission pattern will damage the basic fairness rule of education. In addition, they say that if a person who has not enough academic ability is admitted to the university, it would be an insult on college education. However, still other people think it acceptable. They say that these celebrities deserve this privilege because they have proved their abilities in their field. Besides, in their opinions, these celebrities to some extent set a good model for other young people.
Weighing these two arguments, I prefer the latter one. For one thing, these celebrities have sacrificed much learning time for their work, so they should be provided a better chance for learning. For another, if they accept advanced education, they could serve the society better. Therefore, I suggest that people should pay more attention to these celebrities’ efforts and contributions rather than the special treatment they enjoy.
Free Admission to Museums?
Nowadays, a lot of museums open to the public for free, and a lot of people are attracted to go there. However, it also brought some unexpected problems.
At present, people can get knowledge from many ways like libraries, internet, and other sources. However, there is also much information that people cannot get from the above ways. Free admission museums supply more chances for the public to get knowledge that cannot be easily accessed. People can learn more things about history, art, science and so on. Although, this kind of policy brought much convenience to the public, it also caused some problems. For example, beggars and shabby-dressed people may enter the museums and cause bad reputation among the public; along with the increasing number of people getting into museums, there will be no enough service establishments to meet the requirements; besides, under the policy of free admission, the cultural relics displayed there may be inevitably broken or damaged by the crowds. Moreover, the crowds in the museums may also cause security problems.
In my opinion, free admission is a good policy for the public, and it brings the public much convenience. But, we should also take possible measures to protect the cultural relics and maintain the order of spot. Besides, we can also take the policy of giving free admission first to children, then to the retired person, and last to the public. I think, this may help to solve the problems.
Should high school students study abroad?
Studying abroad has flourished in China in recent years, especially in the
developed cities. A number of parents are sparing no efforts in sending their children to study abroad, even when the children have not finished the high school. However, students should not be encouraged to study abroad before finishing high school.
Students are too young to take care of themselves if they are sent abroad before finishing high school. Due to their young age, they cannot easily adapt them to life in another country and they are easy to suffer loneliness and homesickness. This can lead to some negative effects. The most serious one is that students cannot focus on studying and form some bad habits like drinking, smoking, taking drugs or sex to go astray.
Students do not have a clear idea and purpose of studying abroad before finishing high school. They just follow the trend and do what others do. Some students never think about studying abroad, they just listen to their parents and do what they tell them. This will make student be at a loss about what they are supposed to do after they go abroad.
Students often do not quite know the difference between overseas education
system and domestic education system before finishing high school. Students will face a lot of problems and pressure if they get involved in a totally different studying environment before finishing high school.
In order to build a good studying environment for students, students should not be encouraged to study abroad before finishing high school. If they have plans to study
abroad, they should have a clear purpose and make enough preparations after they finishing high school in their native country.
It has been said, “Not every thing that is learned is contained in books.”
Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?
―Experience is the best teacher‖ is an old cliché, but I agree with it. The most
important, and sometimes the hardest, lessons we learn in life e from our
participation in situations. You can’ learn everything from a book.
Of course, learning from books in a formal educational setting is also valuable. It’s in schools that we learn the information we need to function in our society. We learn how to speak and write and understand mathematical equations. This is all information that we need to live in our munities and earn a living.
Nevertheless, I think that the most important lessons can’t be taught; they have to be experienced. No one can teach us how to get along with others or how to have self-respect. As we grow from children into teenagers, no one can teach us how to deal with peer pressure. As we leave adolescence behind and enter adult life, no one can teach us how to fall in love and get married.
This shouldn’t stop us from looking for guidelines along the way. Teachers and parents are valuable sources of advice when we’re young. As we enter into new stages in our lives, the advice we receive from them is very helpful because they have
already bad similar experiences. But experiencing our own triumphs and disasters is really the only way to learn how to deal with life.
My view on beauty contests
Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss China, Miss Hongkong … You should be
familiar with these titles, because in the modern world, beauty contests e up just like after-rain mushrooms. But in my opinion, they are totally unnecessary.
First and foremost, they are nothing other than a waste of money and other resources. Hosting a beauty contest is really a big budget. I read a piece of news
which told us that the money, which is spent on a beauty contest, can be used to send thousands of children back to school; however, they are still struggling in poverty. Compared with those children’s bright future, the small benefits brought by beauty contests can be nothing.
Second, people’s blind enthusiast towards beauty contests would mislead some young girls. They will focus more on their outside appearance rather than the inner beauty. To them, school is a totally strange place, and knowledge is considered just rubbish, while makeup and clothes are the most important things. Even worse is that the society may stop developing, filled up with useless people only with lovely faces.
Last but not the least, in order to meet the taste of most people towards beauty, many girls change their views. They may used to think of a full figure as the symbol of beauty; however, people laughed at them and told them to lose weight. Then they had to go on diet so as to bee a so-called beauty, which would surely do harm to their health.
Although beauty contests do feast people’s eyes, concerning the problems I
mentioned above, I firmly believe that beauty contests should not be advocated.
university merger
It has bee a mon phenomenon in China that an increasing number of
universities or colleges are merging into more prehensive ones. There are
advantages of merger as a whole; however, we have to confess that there do exist disadvantages.
In my opinion, there are at least three advantages of university merger. Firstly it will promote the construction of first rate universities in China. Many of the 211 Project or even 985 Project universities today are the results of merger. Secondly,
merger to some extent can concentrate and optimize the resources of higher education. Via this process the unnecessary position of staff and expenditure can be averted, thus providing each student with more tangible benefits. Thirdly, the merger of universities previously focusing on different subjects can cooperate in educating and nurturing students into pound talents by offering them trans-subject courses.
Meanwhile, certain disadvantages turn up. The merger will undoubtedly make it more difficult for administrators to run the new university. It may arouse disputes on the issue of naming, finance and campus culture. We can easily imagine a situation in which two or more universities arguing about the name of the new one and the appointment of the new president, while the students trying to preserve traditional campus culture respectively
Based on the above reasons, there’s no absolute advantage or disadvantage of university merger. What we ought to do is to strike a balance between them two and make the most of the advantage.
The Role of Luck in Success
It has been said that when people succeed, it is because of hard work and that luck has nothing to do with success. Although I believe that hard work is very important and is the surest way to success for most people, I must disagree with this statement. It cannot be denied that luck often plays an important role in success. For example,
many important discoveries have been made by accident. There have been many cases of researchers and inventors making major breakthroughs while they were actually trying to solve another problem or create a different device. Furthermore, there is something to be said for simply being in the right place at the right time-perhaps meeting someone by chance who can offer a good job or rare opportunity. And of
course, there are the rare examples of gamblers and lottery winners who beat the odds and achieve sudden and unexpected success.
While the influence of luck cannot be ignored, this is not to say that one should depend on it and ignore the value of hard work. If one is willing to work hard, I
believe that success will eventually be achieved, with or without the added benefit of luck. Moreover, hard work is often an essential ingredient of luck because it enables one to take advantage of a lucky encounter. If the scientist has not worked hard to
develop his knowledge and skills, he may not recognize that lucky breakthrough when it es along. Therefore, my suggestion is not to count on luck to bring you success. Instead, work hard and keep your eyes open for that lucky opportunity.
Attending TV talent Shows Does No Good to Young People
Nowadays TV talent shows are great hits in China and have attracted many young people. Some youngsters even give up their studies to attend these shows in the hope of being famous overnight. Some people think these shows provide young people more chance to show talents, while others believe that attending these shows does no good to the young people. As for me, I prefer to the latter opinion.
It should be admitted that some young people like Li yuchun has stood out from the numerous attendants in the talent show, but that doesn’t mean attending the talent shows is a good way to bee successful for young people. The following reasons can support my view. Firstly, TV talent shows breed restlessness and induce young people to hunt after fame at whatever cost. Secondly, TV talent shows can subvert the youngsters’ values. They think attending the talent shows is a shortcut to the success, so they may despise the way of achieving success by hard work. Finally, if the young people fail in these shows, they will suffer a psychological unbalance.
In a word, entering for TV talent shows is not a good way for young people to make a success. I suggest young people should think twice before deciding to attend talent shows.
Over the past couple of years, a variety of talent shows have emerged on TV channels across the nation, from Super Girls to Happy Boys and so forth. This type of entertainment program is intensely popular, especially among young adults and has produced profound impacts on their studies and life。
There are a couple of reasons behind the tide. To start with, young folks need role models to learn from. So many of them are crazy for contestants participating in these programs. This gives rise to the increasing emergence of these shows because TV networks naturally need to cater to young audiences. Plus, thanks to economic and political reforms carried out by the government, this crop of young generation have more freedom and desire to express and showcase themselves. Therefore, a growing number of young people desire to get involved in these shows。
This is a divisive topic. On my personal level, the talent show is a superb means of relaxing and amusing and can hugely relieve our strains. As college students, however, we could not afford to indulge in them and should be aware of the utmost importance of studies。

On Social disparity (社会分化或贫富差距)
No one can doubt that the reform and opening policies introduced in 1979 have had a profound impact on the lives of Chinese citizens. Changes resulting there from have not only impacted the economic system, but the social system as well. While we are celebrating our achievements in the past tty years in social modernization and economic development, the issue of economic disparity, the problem of gap between the poor and the rich, arouses more and more public concerns.
There are many factors attribute to the increasing economic disparity. First of all, unbalanced economic development gives rise to ine gap between the east and the west parts of China as well as one between rural areas and the urban areas. As the frontier of Chinese economic reform, big cities in the coastal areas such as Shanghai, Guangdong, Beijing, etc., has attained steadily high economic development rate for near two decades. The west areas such as Sichuan, Guizhou, however, are still underdeveloped economically. Secondly, the transition from plan economy system to market economy and the innovations of the enterprise structure introduce huge number of lay-offs into the labor market. Unemployment has now been a more and more serious challenge
to Chinese Government. According to official statistics, 20% of the bulk of urban population are in the stage of low-ine or under-employment. Finally, lack of effective social assistance scheme(社会救助系统) and social security and services worsen the current social disparity.
Many sociologists warm that social and economic disparity can result in instability of the society, which will finally ruin the whole country’s existing economic acplishments earned in the past two decades. Therefore, we have to attach importance to the problem and try to find out the way to help low-ine family and individuals to improve their living standard.
Aging population problem (社会老年化问题及如何对待老人)
Many countries including developed and developing ones has experienced aging population. This is the result of decline birth and marriage rates. Aging population society indicates that it has less work force for production and much more old ones for society to take care of. In America, the generation of Baby Boom would experience their old age in the year of 2010s.
Aging is a social problem the majority of people living in the world are focusing on. The main problems aroused can be listed as following points. First of all, although in many countries, government would set up a series of social security and services to help old people to conquer problems of making ends meet. It cannot work problem out thoroughly. For the aged of lower class worker, and who is easy to lose his job or only has irregular ine their economy problem will bee more serious than higher class. Because their ine is so limited, maybe can not cover the daily expense, and also, they have no money reserved for their old age. Undoubtedly, health is another key point. Aging inevitable and will e to everyone sooner or later. And there are two kinds of aging, the physical and psychological decline. In the United States, they are subjected to job discrimination, suffer high rate of poverty, and face prejudice formed on inaccurate stereotypes.
Since problems aroused by aging are so important and serious to the social stability and flourish. So the government of all levels should pay high attention to it. For the Family Members: especially for their mature children, they must respect their aged parents and show their caring usually. Be tolerant and more considerate. The elder should also change their concept about old age, try to find interest in it. For the Society: mostly for the government, they must take aging problem in to consideration at any time, Form a better Social Security System for them, protect them from poverty, and spend much more expense in funding and maintaining old people protecting organizations and welfare. Such as paid or free nursing houses for elder to live during their last years of life. For munities old ones are living in, they should also offer them varies of social activities, which can include entertainment and study. All these ways created can make elder’s life colorful and can also help them to enjoy their whole life.
Human being is a kind of species, which can also get old and eventually dies. So taking care of old people is so necessary. As a kind of good tradition it has long history in both China and abroad and must be respected as one of human beings’ merit.
Financing undergraduate education of students in poverty
Recently the issue of financing undergraduate education of students in poverty has been fully covered by the media, which arouse grave concerns from both the public and the government. Although the situation of the poor students involved has received wide sympathies and financial supports of various forms, it takes pain-taking efforts to solve the problem as a whole.
Basically there are three factors leading to the problem of students in poverty. First of all, due to innovations of China’s higher learning education system, the authorities has given up its policy of free-higher-learning-education since 1998, which shifts part of the financial burden to the individuals involved. Secondly, to improve the education quality, universities of China pursue bettering their facilities necessary and attracting petent faculty members, which greatly stimulates the cost of administering a school. To make the balance even, most universities choose to raise tuition to guarantee its healthy development. Finally, unbalanced regional economic development and increasing number of lay-offs or underemployment worsen the financial situation of households of poor student. In rural area of the west part of China, 80% of the admitted students are forced to give up their dream of entering university because of the lack of money.
From the above analyses we can easily draw the conclusion that the problem of students in poverty has bee a social problem which will finally influence the further development of our society. Therefore, we should take it into serious consideration. I strongly suggest Chinese government establish more effective financial policies and find out more channels to finance the students’ education.
Psychological problems confronting university students (高校心理问题)
The execution of the notorious murderer, Ma, jiajue, again rings the warming bell to the public to fight against psychological problems confronting university students. In my opinion campus psychological problems have following social roots. First of all, new generation of university students are born in one-baby family, entitling them to excessive care and love from parents and grandparents. Therefore, most of them lack enough disciplining in how to get along with people around and don’t know how municate with each other. Egoism is flooding within and outside campus. Secondly, due to the development of internet, new generation of university students are exposed easily to negative side-effects of the society. They are obsessed with sex, rumor, QQ, internet games, etc., In the cyber-world full of cheating and rumor, colleague students incline to put studying aside and pursue leisure instead. Thirdly, loopholes in moral disciplining by the educational authorities also should take to blame for the worsening situation. More and more tragic cases indicate campus psychological problems are now to be fight against immediately. What can we do to help them out? It is a question not only in the realm of sociologists but also every social element involved. In my opinions, an effective psychological consulting system should be established in every university to teach and help students affected find the way out when in psych-troubles. Also on the parts of the students, they should try to enrich themselves in every aspects of life and improve their munication skills. Last but not the least, universities have to
strengthen their moral disciplining to help students establish correct target of life and moral standard.

Currently a phenomenon is drawing wide attention in society/among the public: over the past few years there has been a boom/rapid growth in charity undertakings in China. According to a recent survey, the number of the population who get involved in charity is steadily on the rise. Indeed, charity has bee part of many ordinary Chinese people?s lives.
However, (opinions vary widely.) Some argue that charity is just related to/ has much to do with the super-rich people. In their eyes, ordinary people are not able to donate a lot of money to charity.
As I see it/ Personally, I am not in favor of such view. It is true that those super-rich people have sufficient (financial) resources to make generous donations. However, that does not mean that average people don?t have to care about charity. On the contrary, charity is related to everyone?s life, because the nature of charity is not quantity but care and love/affection/ sympathy / kindness. (Therefore, what really counts is not how much you donate but the time and energy you have put in the undertaking.) Moreover, charity means more than giving out money; it also means that you can help the strangers who are in need, or that you can contribute your time to volunteer to help those who need your help.
Of course, there is much room for
improvement./Charity in China is far from perfect/mature. Several things deserve our effort. First, individuals / ordinary people should be aware that they should take on the
responsibility for helping the needy. Besides, the super-rich should set good examples by offering more. Most importantly, the government should issue favor policies to motivate more citizens to join in the rank of charity. / should monitor/ supervise/ regulate the operation of the charity institutions/organizations. I am confident that as long as we show affection and sympathy / kindness to those in need, we will certainly live in increasing harmony.
【Sample 2】
As is accurately demonstrated in the table/chart, we can get an overall picture of charity in mainland China. The percentage / ratio of people who donate, who help the stranger and who contribute time is 11%, 28%, and 4% respectively. And in terms of prehensive index, China just falls behind most countries. What is conveyed in the table is obvious/ is a grim reality: our charity is still
underdeveloped/ far from perfect/mature.
It is true that over the past few years, ordinary Chinese citizens have donated billions of yuan to charity. A good case in point is the Project Hope, which aims to assist the education of the disadvantaged children who live in remote poverty-stricken areas. Another example is disaster relief efforts in Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. All this suggests that sympathy and kindness are deeply rooted in our culture.
However, quite a few people are indifferent and reluctant to render help to the needy. First, there is not an efficient, convenient system to motivate people to donate. Second, the operation of some charity institutions is not so transparent, which … / thus doing… Most importantly, many super-rich people fail to set good examples by donating actively, which chill the enthusiasm of public in charity undertakings.
As I see it, it is time something was
done to address the problem. First, individuals should be aware that charity can be part of our routine and that good deeds should not be confined to the super-rich. Besides, top achievers should set good examples for the public by offering more. Most importantly, the government should issue favor policy to motivate all charitable deeds. Only in this way can our charity undertakings develop healthily. / At any rate, we had better bear in mind that good deeds not only benefit others, but also those who do it. / Anyway, involvement in charity may bring peace to the heart. Whether big or small your contribution (is), what really counts is that we bring about change, in our small ways. (336 words)

Task 1
Should We Promote Car Ownership?
When it es to car ownership, people’s views vary widely. Promoters of private cars take it for granted that owning a car is a symbol of personal prosperity and social progress. To their mind, it is advisable for every Chinese family to have a car. On the other hand, people in increasing numbers begin to be aware of various hazards of promoting private automobiles and appeal to society to give priority to public transportation.
Personally, I am in favor of the latter view. It is true that the private car does provide convenience and increase people?s mobility significantly. It is also true that many people view owning an expensive car as a sign of their social status. However, the side effects the car causes should not be underestimated. The increase in private cars leads to polluted air, traffic congestion, and injuries and fatalities. Most important of all, if we take China?s situations into account, we?ll decide that our nation cannot afford to provide most of our people with a car. We don?t have sufficient parking space in the city; nor do we have cheap fuel to feed millions of cars. On the other hand, promoting public transport repairs/remedies the deficiencies mentioned above.
In brief, as I see it, the disadvantages of promoting private cars far outweigh the advantages. So I strongly remend limiting the number of private cars and investing more resources in public transport. Only in this way can we develop our transportation and improve our lives.
Task 2
College Graduate Self-employment
The past few years have seen a remarkable increase in the number of college students as a result of enlarged enrollment. However, young college graduates find themselves faced with a tight job market after graduation. Recently, the government has issued some policies encouraging college graduates to establish their own businesses right after leaving school.
Obviously, both graduates and society can benefit a lot from the policies. In the first place, young people can integrate themselves into society more quickly in the process of running a business. Moreover, the young can enjoy more freedom and are more likely to fulfill their ideals. Most important of all, the practice will help relieve the pressure of employment.
However, this practice will create some problems. The biggest headache es from lack of fund and experience, which may lead to failure in running a business. Another barrier lies in the young people?s impatience; they are often too thirsty for success, forgetting that overnight success is almost impossible.
As I see it, several parties involved should coordinate their efforts to cope with the issue. On the part of the young, they should prepare better in their college study. On the other hand, university authorities can provide more practical programs about self-employment. Most
important of all, the government at all levels should issue more favor policies to motivate the young to establish and run their businesses. Only in this way can the young people fulfill their dream of being useful people to society.
Task 3
Should Pop Stars Be Banned from Commercials?
The mercial advertising by stars is getting more and more pervasive. Turn on your TV and chances are that a famous movie actor is boasting of the enormous benefits of using a shampoo or a pop singer is convincing us how a medicine cures his sore throat. Obviously, the impact on the public cannot be ignored and due consideration should be given to this rampant phenomenon.
It is true that the stars can take advantage of their popularity to influence customers, and in this way the manufactures are likely to make huge profits. However, problems arise when the famous figure makes irresponsible advertising by exaggerating the performance and effect of a product or service. In fact, the stars? action of this kind misleads the consumers and represents a breach of their rights.
Personally, I am against stars advertising in public media. It is high time something was done to remedy the situation. First, the public figures should give priority to the public?s interest and practice self-discipline in face of temptation. Moreover, consumers should bee more sensible and rational by developing good shopping skills and identifying the traps set in some mercials. Most important of all, the government and relevant institutions should set up laws and regulations to ban some star-centered advertising, such as medicines and drugs. Only in this way can we create a healthy shopping environment.
Task 4
Rush for Civil Service
The recent years have seen a remarkable growth in the number of college students who enter for the qualification test for civil servants. According to a recent survey, the percentage is strikingly high: nearly half of the senior students have the intension of working in a government agency.
The factors for this phenomenon are plex. For one thing, a civil servant has a high social status. Young people think it easier to make contributions to our nation than they work in a pany. And it is associated with “guan”—an all-too-traditional image in numerous people?s minds. Second, it is paratively securer. A government employee may stay in the job for life, free of the fear of being laid off, and enjoy a carefree retired life. Third, it offers appealing prospects of advancement and promotion. Usually government agencies are more generous than businesses in sending employees to have on-the-job retraining. Last but not least, the pay and benefits are very satisfactory.
As I see it, it is a healthy trend for young graduates to take civil servant jobs. Anyway, everyone has his own ideal and ambition. However, there exist other alternatives to it, for path to a government agency is not wide enough to acmodate a flood of people. As far as I?m concerned, I will choose to work with a business or corporation, for I feel my personality enables me to be better suited to a non-government organization. I can?t stand inefficiency, and I wele challenge and variety. I am convinced as long as I take a responsible attitude towards this issue, I be sure to bee a useful person to society.
In my view, we should give good consideration to two factors before deciding on our
career. For one thing, our personal ideals should be bined with the reality of our country. The interest of our nation should be ranked first. For another, starting up a business of one?s own should be encouraged, for now labor supply overtakes the demand of job market. Being a self-employed worker means sharing the burden of our country.
Do you think fresh college grads should be excluded from government jobs?
Yes:
1. Entry-level jobs in the public sector in particular require lots of interaction with ordinary
people. Fresh graduates lacking in social experience and interpersonal skills cold easily make mistakes and hurt the image of the government.
2. College students may find government jobs more plex than they expect; as a result, the
frustrating stress this plexity entails is more than they can mange to deal with.
No:
1. While young graduates in general may not have a lot of social experience, many of them have
developed internships and on-campus employment. Moreover, their integrity makes them even better candidates for government jobs.
2. All fresh graduates have to start gaining experience and expertise from somewhere. If all
employers turn them down with the same excuse, they will never have an opportunity to get a foot on the career ladder and properly enter society. Government jobs are a good way to improve their interpersonal and service sector skills. So it is simply unfair to deny college grads the opportunity to have public employment without giving them a try.
Task 5
My View on Idol Worshipping
Idol worshipping is not a new phenomenon, but currently there is a trend for the youngsters to take pop stars for their most admired figures. Some irrational teenagers even t as far as to mit suicide for their idols. Obviously, due consideration should be given to this pervasive phenomenon.
It is true that moveie stars, pop singers and all other entertainers usually live in fort and receive considerable publicity. They often represent a lifestyle the young desire to have. However, young people are readily blinded by the surface of things. What they fail to see is that behind every successful story lies in hard work and mitment. They see applauses on the stage but ignore the tear and sweat. Moreover, some pop stars themselves lack virtues and do not deserve to be their peers? idols. We often read negative news about some actors and actresses who don?t qualify as our role models. Last but not least, the mass media is to blame, for their reports often give partial stories and fail to lead the young properly.
Therefore, it is high time something was done to cope with this issue. First, the young should develop a more meaningful outlook on life. Moreover, mass media must stop focusing on the appearance of some stars? life. Most important, the school authority should readjust the educational framework. After all, there must be something wrong when the youngsters develop irrational craze for pop stars.
Task 6
Does Chinese Need New Words?
Do you think we should add newly created expressions into our language with ease?
Yes:
Language is a living organism and it is also a tool. As long as people use it to municate efficiently, new words and expressions should be incorporated into our language to keep it fresh.
It is useless to try to stop language from changing. Just look at how different modern Chinese is form classical texts. News things and new situations emerge, and there has to be new language to describe them.
There are ways we can maintain the beauty and purity of our national language while constantly updating it. Certain slang words and expressions that are deemed by most as vulgar can be discouraged, but other useful new elements should be maintained.
Changes in our daily language are occurring too fast. We have to be careful about what new elements we incorporate, or they will vulgarize language and cause confusion.
New words and expressions are being coined by the minute, especially on the Internet, and they can bee obsolete just as rapidly. Many of us have never heard things like “benben ”. What?s the use of making such an expression official? This will only cause confusion when people municate.
Not all change is good. Instead of just listing new expressions, the authorities should take a stand and tell people what exactly bad usage is and what should be discouraged. People can?t take just any new expression for granted.
Task 7
Is The Big City Good Enough?
Yes:
Quality of life is not just about clean air, less traffic and cheaper food and housing. For younger people, there are also higher-paying jobs, better universities, bigger museums, more movie theaters, Karaoke bars and shopping malls. Smaller cities can?t pete with that.
As urbanization increases, government and society are also making an effort to improve standards of living in big cities by reducing pollution and improving traffic. Urban life in the long run will improve.
What other problems cities bring, nobody can deny that education and job possibilities are much greater there than in small ton or the countryside. This advantage alone has caused millions of people to give up the other forts to move to cities.
No:
Life is less stressful there in second- and third-tier cities. The cheaper housing in smaller cities is a major plus.
Anybody can see that pollution and traffic problems are getting worse in big cities. This is unlikely to change in the future. Health is an important factor in quality of life, especially in the case of children and older folks. That?s the reason for the suburbanization trend, where the richest move out of cities.
Big cities don?t? provide equal opportunities to everyone. When rich people move into cities, they cause costs to go up and the urban poor find everything, especially housing, too expensive. Eventually some of them will be forced to move to smaller, cheaper cities because they have no
choice.
Task 8
Is “No Cars Day” Worthwhile?
Do you think the ?No Cars Day” campaign is worth the effort?
a total of 108 cities around the country have participated in the “No Car Day” recently. The aim: to dissuade people from driving cars and to promote public transportation in big cities.
Yes:
1. In concept and practice, the idea is new to millions of Chinese city-dwellers. The campaign
was successful in that it alerted people to the serious problems of pollution and traffic congestion.
2. At the very least, it is a good start. If people are convinced that they are contributing to a
worthy cause, they will gradually change their behavior, and that is the goal of the campaign. No:
1. A one-day government-led campaign can hardly generate enough long-term influence to
change people?s behavior.
2. The cost of the campaign is probably greater than its economic and environmental gains. We
should resort to more practical and effective methods to cut back on auto use, like building more subways and putting more buses on the road, even charging a “congestion tax” for cars.
3. The campaign is a voluntary one with no binding power. People took part for one day and
keep on driving their cars the other 364 days of the year.
Task 9

Should Celebrities Be More Careful?
Do you think public figures need to practice restraint?
Yes:
1. Public figures enjoy many privileges and have great influence over the public. As a result,
they need to take extra responsibilities to ensure that they play a positive role in society.
2. TV and movie stars particularly influence young fans, who often look up to them and imitate
their behavior.
NO:
What celebrities do in their private lives is their own business, as long as they don?t break the law.
Task 10

Should We Force Honesty?
Will a pledge of credibility stop students from cheating?
Some universities asked the students to sign a pledge of credibility, stating that they would not cheat in the exam. Those who refused to sign the statement were barred automatically from the exams.
Yes: Credibility is a habit, not a born characteristic. Students can be taught to be honest.
1. In the face of rampant cheating in exams and other unethical behavior, a policy reminding
students of their moral responsibilities is better than nothing.
2. It?s a good start to educate students properly on how to behave. If one makes a promise but
knowingly breaks it, the signature can be used to shame him/her when caught cheating.
3. The policy provides an immediate punishment for those who refuse to mit to honest
behavior. It sends a clear signal to students about what is right and what is wrong.
NO: A single-minded, involuntary statement cannot foster credibility. This measure only undermines its intended purpose.
1. Credibility is only established when a person willingly mits and keeps to it. If university
authorities force students to sign the statement, its? meaningless and fruitless.
2. This mandatory format of “credibility statement” in itself could offend some students,
prompting them either to sign it reluctantly or refuse to sign it. This won?t help eliminate dishonest behavior; it will just have the opposite effect.

Should We Let Entertainers Speak on Campus?
Yes: It can make campus life more colorful and helps diversify students? lives.
1. The spirit of university education should be liberal. Universities shouldn?t be afraid to
embrace all kinds of ideas.
2. Those pop stars are pop icons admired by millions of young people nationwide. College
students have the right to know about fashion.
3. Inviting outstanding entertainers to talk about what they excel at doesn?t necessarily mean
university will lower its standard.
No: The primary purpose of a university is academic training. Universities, especially prestigious ones, should maintain their standards and resist mercialism.
1. Such mercial events could easily distract students from their studies and disrupt the
academic atmosphere on campus. Keeping fit and dressing in style, two topics which are often the focus of these entertainers? speech, should hardly be college students? chief concern.
2. Most stars are not academically qualified to give a speech on college campus. Our sacred
podium should be reserved for masters and great minds.
Task 12

Should Scholars Present Themselves on TV?
Yes:
1. It is a good way to popularize classic works for the ordinary people, who either have little or
no time to read volumes of ancient works or are unable to appreciate our ancient wisdom.
2. It helps academicians improve their fame. Conventionally scholars are confined to ivy tower.
3. The move enhances the qualities of TV programs, which are filled with too much shallow
entertainment. Anyway, TV has a larger coverage than any publications.
4. Scholars may gain a sense of achievement when they are recognized by a parade of devoted
viewers. Meanwhile they also gain financially.
No:
1. Strictly speaking, academic research has its own rules and principles. Focus on simplifying
hard classic works may lead to inaccuracy and misunderstanding among the ordinary viewers.
2. Some scholars are accused of turning academia into a sensational show by using many vulgar
expressions to appeal to the mon people, thus lowering the quality of scientific research.
Task 13

Should We Preserve Our Traditional Architectures?
Currently, a phenomenon is causing wide concern: more and more ancient and traditional architectures in old neighborhoods are gradually replaced by brand-new high-rise buildings made of steel, glass, cement and elevators. Thus, a controversy arises: should we continue to live in old houses or make them give way to modernized tall buildings?
I think there is a mistake neglected in the debate: this issue is not an either/or preposition. Rather, preservation and development can go hand in hand, and if handled properly, it would be a win-win result for both tradition-oriented citizens and property developers. The guiding principle is: any development should be achieved at the cost of sacrificing tradition. It is true that high-rise building ensures modern lifestyle, but a city?s vitality consists not merely in skyscrapers but also those “humble-looking” buildings, which reflect a part of our past, our culture, our history. Pulling down old buildings amounts to removing a memory of the past. A good case in point is in Western countries, where people spare no efforts to protect ancient architecture by means of education and legislation.
Only by wisely bine preservation with developing shall we able to hand down to our offspring the cultural heritages which have survived thousands of years. Never should we allow them to be lost in our hands.
Task 14
Dear Mr. Blackheart,
I am writing/venture to put in a request for a pay raise which I think I should deserve.
There are about three reasons for my request. First, I?ve been working in the pany since 2000. In the seven years I got one raise in 2003, when I was promoted to head of a 12-person sales team. I understand there is a rule of our pany that a petent clerk is likely to get a raise every two years. Second, since I was in charge of the sales team, I took great pains to increase the sales. Last year, our team ranked first in terms of sales. I think achievement should not be ignored and should be encouraged. Only in this way can the staff bee more and more highly-motivated and devote themselves to the growth of the pany. Third, I find several of my colleagues who hold equal positions to mine have got promoted or pay raised. Personally, I believe my performance is parable to theirs.
I like my job and always think our pany is a great place to work. My work has been acknowledged by the staff. I am determined to use my talents for the growth of the pany. So please let me grow with the pany.
I?d appreciate it very much if you would consider my request and give me a response/reply. Yours sincerely,

旅游
International travel is being cheaper, and countries are opening their doors to more and more tourists. Do the advantages of increased tourism outweigh its disadvantages?
Air travel bined with early retirement and people with money to spend has meant that more and more people can travel the world.
Some countries, especially those with famous historical sights and beautiful natural scenery try to attract this large market.
While there are some problems that can be caused with all this travel, generally it is a positive thing.
Firstly, consider that all these tourists mean money that governments are eager to tap into.
For many countries, tourism is a big part of GDP and without it their economies would suffer.
Foreign tourists bring important dollars to the service industry and lots of small shops and vendors.
Secondly, by encouraging tourism governments are promoting their cities and countries.
In my country, China, for example, increased tourism and hosting the Olympics has changed people’s perception of our country.
At the same time, tourism allows local people to gain exposure to people from other countries, which is also a good thing.
Of course it’s not always a perfect picture.
Not all tourists have a good attitude and manners.
And in some cases they may even have a negative influence on the local population. But these situations are not so mon, and embassies can create tough guidelines for getting a visa.
This seems like a reasonable promise.
To conclude, international travel is a great thing, but it is a privilege that should not be abused.
Governments should encourage it, but also put in place measures to keep dangerous people away.
This will result in a win-win situation for everyone.
